The molds are waxed …
The molds are waxed or covered with packing tap to prevent the epoxy from sticking to the molds. Even so they do stick a bit. They are also fasted to the hull at the stringer with screws, that are eventually removed. Sounds like you need to pick up a copy of “Kayak Craft”.
When you turned …
When you turned over the hull what kept the molds in place since you removed it from the box beam?

The kayak took me …
The kayak took me about 150-200 hours to build, at a cost of about CND$2200. As for tools you just need a jig saw, a good sander and a good plane or two (very sharp), and lots of c-clamps. If you want to build one yourself I highly recommend that you get a copy of “Kayak Craft” by Ted Moores … it takes the guess work out of the whole process.
Very nice. May I …
Very nice. May I ask how long it actually took you to complete, and the approximate cost of materials and tools? I think I might like to give it a try…although I’m sure it wont come out nearly as good as yours.
